9ja Girls safe spaces have opened across Nigeria
girls have joined the 9ja Girls program for education, skills, and reproductive health access
"Poverty and unplanned pregnancy are a daily reality for many of Nigeria's young women — but few paths exist for youth to achieve their dreams."
Over an extended engagement, our team collaborated with local and international organizations to conceptualize, design, and launch a nationwide program aimed at providing Nigeria's girls safe spaces to develop marketable professional skills, learn about reproductive health, and access services.
The work went from concept to physical build-out — designing the spaces, developing the brand, and defining the service model that would allow these centers to open and operate consistently across very different communities nationwide.
As Lead Systems Designer, I managed the design of safe space clinic development from concept to build-out — with specific focus on feature design, cost evaluation, material sourcing, and rollout strategy.

"9ja Girls goes beyond method uptake. It makes girls know what life is. It makes them sit down and think about where they are coming from, where they are, and where they are going."
